Abstract Ponyfish

Hey Elisa,
I thought you might appreciate these double exposures I took on my Diana mini of the Yarra. There is a newish bar in Melbourne that is on a little concrete island in the middle of the Yarra. It's under a bridge, and you have to walk out into the middle of the bridge and down some stairs, and you're there! It's called Ponyfish Island. These photos were taken on a Friday night after work, back when I had a job! It was a really warm and humid day, but very grey and overcast. Just as we got to the bar, it started to rain. It's outdoors, but luckily it's under the shelter of the bridge! It was so nice sitting there on the little island with our beers, watching the rain fall on the river and the boats go past us every now and again. I wish you could have been there.

Spring time

Beanie

Dear Josie,

Yesterday I went to Victoria Park with some friends - the weather is starting to be really nice and warm, and we couldn't miss a day in the sun (even though essays are due soon and exams are in one month). We also took a walk in the area around the park, it really felt we were in a dream: fabulous houses and beautiful people, trees in blossom, loads of cyclists; we couldn't stop smiling! It was one of those moments when I realise to be really fond of London.

I'm really looking forward to move out somewhere else, plus house hunting is one of my favourite things ever!

My friend Sephy took some pictures of me and the beanie I finished knitting this week: I'm so proud of it, I've always wanted to have a white one and now I made it myself! I'm sure you understand the happiness of creating your own things and put them on the second after they're done. It's a bit of a shame that I have to wait for the next winter to actually use it, I'm looking forward to that.

Oh, and I was wearing my new favourite blouse in the world - Tarzan comics!

Live music

Dear Josie,

I have been seeing loads of live music lately, and I feel like sharing this with you. Here there are some of the concerts I went to, I'm definitely making the most of London!

Lulu and the lampshades (such a cool name for a band! - I didn't know them before I went to see Peggy Sue, but it was a really nice surprise)

Lykke Li (she played at Rough Trade on the day of the launch of her new CD: the concert was only for those who bought the album that same day. It was awesome, we got a brand new CD and a concert all together! It was just a bit upsetting that she played only a 5 songs set..)

Iron and Wine (I saw them yesterday, a really moving concert)

Plus, we hosted at our place a small concert of Emmy the Great, who is probably my favourite singer. She was part of Pledge Music, a platform for artists who want to stay independent from the big music labels. She was raising money for her second album, and one of the things you could contribute with was having a gig in your living room (we actually were in the studio at the back of the garden). For all the time of the concert I couldn't believe she was there, in my house, playing all the songs I have been listening to for the last two years. It has been probably one of my happiest moments of my entire life, and my sense of awe lasted for days. It turned out that we knew the songs better than her, I felt a bit nerdy for that..

Daffodils

Dear Josie,

Winter is leaving this part of the planet and I can see everywhere the very first signs of spring. Yesterday I found a daffodil in our garden, I was so happy and impressed! We didn't plant any of those, we just had tulips and crocuses, so the daffodil came as a complete surprise. I took some pictures of it, as I know you like flowers as much as me. I'll keep you updated with the garden's developments!

Dear Elisa,

Lately I have been thinking a lot about how, if I had an entire house to call my own and unlimited funds, I would choose to decorate the space I would call my own. What kind of space would I feel most at home in, and most comfortable and happy to spend the majority of my time?
I love interior design and I have a folder on my desktop where I constantly save pictures of spaces that inspire me. I think these images sum up the kind of place I would love to be spending my time at the moment!

Not sure where these images have all come from, but I'm sure there are some from The Selby, Hannah and Landon, and The Design Files! Please let me know if you want your image removed/credited :)

Hitchcock

I've been watching loads of Hitchcock's movies lately (he was born in Leytonstone, East London - just around the corner!), and besides the amazing plots, I noticed such a good taste in clothing that I wanted to show you some of the outfits I thought were awesome. I love them because they are elegant but still practical, and as you know I have a passion for pastel colours. Most of the dresses have big belts tied around, which is actually my favourite part for a dream dress.

Here are some of the pictures I could find on the internet - it was a bit hard to find good ones for Psycho that were not from the shower scene (that really freaked me out!).
